Imhotep is the first architect that is recoded in history. He was a big man in Egypt; an Architect, a physician, a priest, and a scribe. I always find Egyptian art to be interesting, and so of course, I found his work to be noteworthy.
I like how well rounded she is as a painter. Not only does she has realism (she does paint portraits) but her artwork can also be imaginative. I also like that she uses her art to make a difference for animals.
“My goal as an artist has always been to make a difference in the lives of animals, animal lovers, and animal advocates. I want to help educate people about important animal issues through my art. Animals cannot speak for themselves, so we must be their voice. I speak through my art.” – Emily J. Marino
This wonderful Elephant is named Ramona. She has been taught to paint by the Russian émigré artists Vitaly Komar and Alexander Melamid in part as a way to provide a living for elephants put out of work by the closing of the local timber industries and in part as a sophisticated and amusing art world project.
Ramona was born in WayKambasNational Park in South Sumatra on February 27, 1995. Her mother Karsih was an entertainer there, giving elephant rides and performing simple circus tricks for tourists. Her father was a wild bull elephant, whose name and whereabouts are unknown … Ramona began her painting career in 1999 under the guidance of renowned New York-based artists Vitaly Komar & Alexander Melamid. Within two days, Ramona was deep in concentration, confidently applying paint to canvas (novica.com)
Nathan Sawaya is an artist who creates pretty amazing sculptures out of LEGO bricks. And they're not just recreations of objects, like a car or a building, but actual creative sculptures
I have always found trees very inspiring, so this piece stood out to me as one of her best.
But other images of Maine she has done are very well done also.
In light of the new season approaching, I figured I would find some artwork of how this season would be back home. Unfortunately, I can't change your thermostat, so I will just be able to give you visions of the Maine autumn. She shows off a lot of Maine sites, which is very beautiful.
This style of artwork was completely new to me when I saw it at the Visual Art Studio on First Walk Fridays. Its New Gicless. I found the off colors were very attractive, and still got the message across of what is in the picture.
Vadis Turner works in Sculpture and installations. Her work is very feminine, which of course attracts me. In this series, she created several body parts entirely from accessories.
